The Euro-area Economy Modelling Centre (EEMC) carries on and promotes research in macroeconomic modelling and econometrics.

EEMC is an inter-service body of the European Commission that blends the macroeconomic and applied economic policy competences of the Econometric Models and Medium Term Studies Unit of the Directorate General Economic and Financial Affairs (ECFIN) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) multidisciplinary competences in econometrics, dynamical modelling, engineering, mathematics and computer science.

EEMC was officially established the 1st of January  2007 under the 7th Research Framework Programme of the European Commission after 7 years of inter-service cooperation dating back to FP5
